How To set up I2P on Windows 10

Configuration

• OS : Windows 10
• I2P : 0.9.45
• Ip address : 192.168.1.10

Intro

I2P

I2P stand for (”Invisible Internet Project”) is a anonymous network. It's a computer network layer that allows applications to send messages to each other anonymously and securely. Uses include anonymous Web surfing, chatting, blogging and file transfers. The software that implements this layer is called an I2P router and a computer running I2P is called an I2P node.

System requirements

Java

To correctly work I2P needs Java to be installed, we can download it, following the web link below.

• java.com then we click on the download link.

• Be Agree and Start Free Download...

• Run Java installer

• Java is successfully installed

NAT

• If you have ipv4 WAN ip addres you have to set up a NAT. On your router we need to set ports 23156 TCP and UDP to be correctly translated to our I2P host (192.168.1.10) :

I2P Installation

Download

• Click on this link http://www.i2p2.net and Get I2P :

• We click on Windows link

Install

• We proceed to the I2P installation. After choosing the language we can choose de default parameters.

• We can enable auto I2P start

• If you use the Windows Firewall a pop up will warn you about security. Just allow access :

• Double click on Start I2P icon

• After few seconds I2P will automatically launch web navigator.

• Click on Finished button

• We will be automaticaly redirected to the I2P router console : http://127.0.0.1:7657. If in ipv4 mode, status should be Network : Firewalled. If so we have to set ports configuration with the same number that we've set in the NAT configuration.

• To manage ports, we have to go to http://127.0.0.1:7657/confignet or via the left panel I2P services > Network :
• Set the port number then click on Save Changes

• After few seconds Network : OK status should appear
